Lose the Love Handles!

June 19, 2019

Now that I have your attention….

When putting my content calendar together for 2019, I reached out to you because it is important that as a coach I provide you with the information you need to help you grow as an athlete.

Last week in one of my Instagram posts, I shared a strength workout which included one of my favorites… the Bottom Loaded Windmill. And a bunch of you reached out to ask how to do this particular exercise!

The Windmill is a great exercise! It can increase hip and hamstring flexibility, improve shoulder stability and mobility, and strengthen your obliques. It conditions your small stabilizer muscles so your larger muscles have a stronger base to work from.  And the more stable you are, the more injury resistant!

As you can see, there are a lot of moving parts to this exercise. I would recommend starting with no weight while you become familiar with the movement. Three sets of 8 on each side will be sufficient!

Have an exercise you need help with? Or need an idea on how to strengthen or stretch a particular muscle? Drop me a line! Once you practice this a couple of times, post a video and tag me! I would love to watch your progress!
